Changing Vertical Blinds From Split Opening To Side Opening

The task of changing the opening and closing direction of the vanes does not require expensive tools or accessing the internal components of the vertical blind.

If you have a side opening or stacking vertical blind and you want to change the direction of its operation to the center the headrail must be changed. So if your door opens on the right side the door slides open from the right and then goes to the left then opt for left stack vertical blinds and if the door opens on the left side then go for right stack vertical blinds. Next remove the headrail and turn it around so the controls are on the opposite side. Would like the blinds to be able to stack on that side also.

When you tug on the pull cord of a vertical blind the blinds open by moving to the left. Side opening and centre opening headrails operate differently. I have two vertical blinds each with a centre draw split. As a result side stack vertical blinds are ideal as they stack to one side.

Gently push up on the outside edge of the valance if installed until the valance clip clicks free of the vertical blind header.
