I know the door latch is broken my question is how do i open the door.

All linkage is in. I busted the outer door handle and was able to inspect the door latch. Now it will not open from the inside pulling on the rod behind the panel or from the outside door handle. You can take a long screw driver of piece of drill rod and manipulate the lever that opens the latch to get the door open and make repairs as needed from there. It feels as if there is nothing there or no tension on anything. The lock on my door still goes up and down as if it can be locked and unlocked.
